# Creating Variations

Generate multiple versions of your images to explore different possibilities.

## Explore Different Possibilities

Variations let you create multiple versions of an existing image. Each variation maintains the core concept while introducing creative differences—perfect for finding the ideal version.

### How to Create Variations

1.  **Select an image** from your gallery
    
2.  **Click Variations** in the editing toolbar
    
3.  **Adjust variation strength** (how different the results should be)
    
4.  **Set number of variations** to generate
    
5.  **Click Generate** to create your variations
    

### Variation Strength

Control how different your variations will be:

**Low Strength (10-30%)**

-   Subtle changes
    
-   Same composition and colors
    
-   Minor detail differences
    
-   Good for fine-tuning
    

**Medium Strength (40-60%)**

-   Noticeable differences
    
-   Similar overall feel
    
-   Varied interpretations
    
-   Best for exploration
    

**High Strength (70-100%)**

-   Significant changes
    
-   New interpretations
    
-   Different compositions possible
    
-   Good for creative exploration
    

### When to Use Variations

**Finding the perfect version**

-   Generate 4 variations at medium strength
    
-   Compare and pick the best elements
    
-   Iterate on your favorite
    

**A/B testing content**

-   Create variations for social posts
    
-   Test which version performs better
    
-   Build a library of options
    

**Creative exploration**

-   Discover unexpected directions
    
-   Break creative blocks

### Credit Cost

Variations cost **5 credits per variation** at base resolution.

Example: 4 variations at 1K = 20 credits

Resolution multipliers apply:

-   1K: 5 credits per variation
    
-   2K: 10 credits per variation
    
-   4K: 20 credits per variation
    

### Tips for Great Variations

1.  **Start with a strong original**: Better source images lead to better variations
    
2.  **Try multiple strength levels**: Different strengths reveal different possibilities
    
3.  **Generate in batches**: Create 4 at once, then iterate on the best
    
4.  **Combine with other edits**: Use Magic Edit on your favorite variation
